London, UK (September 13th, 2023) – The Youth Pride Association (YPA), a United States-based nonprofit working to support LGBTQ students, was recently awarded £16,000 from the Dr. Martens Foundation.
The funding will support YPA’s Acceptance Week program, working to model a safe and affirming environment for LGBTQ students in high schools. Over the 2023-2024 academic year, the program is expected to serve over 20 schools and 20,000 students across the United States.
“The Acceptance Week program has had a significant, positive impact on the schools it serves,” said Cameron Bartosiewicz, President at Youth Pride Association. “With Dr. Martens Foundation’s support, we can amplify the positive impact of this program at more schools than ever before.”
